    Frank Wills is the Director of Kennesaw State University’s Military and Veteran Services. Frank has over 10 years of experience in helping veterans transition to a post-secondary institution. He is a product of an environment that is fully designed to help veterans transition into college.

    Frank earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University. It was at Mississippi State that Frank was a founding member of MSU’s first veteran organization along with the Student Veterans of America in Chicago in 2008.

    Frank was selected nationally in the inaugural class of 2009 as a Tillman Military Scholar. Frank honorably served the nation in both the Marine Corps and the Army National Guard.

      Richard Sisk is the Assistant Director and a Transition Coordinator for Military and Veteran Services. Richard served 4 years in the Army as an infantryman with the 10th Mountain Division’s 4th Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Battalion 30th Infantry Regiment from 2004 to 2008. This included a deployment to Afghanistan from late 2006 to early 2007. 

      Originally from Pascagoula, MS, Richard decided to use his Post 9/11 GI Bill at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and then transferred to Kennesaw State in the summer of 2010. This would ultimately result in his employment at the Veteran Resource Center, (now known as Military & Veteran Services) as a VA work study student beginning in that fall of 2010. 

      It is the 2 and a-half years of experience as a VA work study student, where he developed his passion for helping other veterans with their transition into college, just as he once experienced himself. Richard graduated from KSU with his undergraduate degree in the summer of 2013 and began working full-time as the Transition Coordinator with Military & Veteran Services at KSU in May of 2014. Richard is married and has both a son and a daughter.

        Christopher Brayton is a Transition Coordinator for Military and Veteran Services.  A 4-year veteran of the United States Coast Guard where he was assigned to the Cutter Gallatin, out of Charleston, SC.  His deployments include both counter narcotic and search and rescue operations in both South America and the Caribbean.

        Christopher earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Studies from Kennesaw State University.  During his time as a student at KSU, he used both the Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill and the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI bill.  He was also an active member of the Kennesaw State Cycling club.

        Christopher attended Kennesaw State prior to the establishment of Military and Veteran Services and understands the complexities that can arise when using VA educational benefits and how valuable it can be to have experienced veterans assisting others with that process. He hopes his knowledge and passion can help others succeed during their time at Kennesaw State.

          Veteran Success on Campus Counselor


          Margo Thompson is the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) Counselor at KSU. As part of the partnership between VA and KSU, the VSOC program aims to assist student Servicemembers, Veterans and their eligible dependents to succeed in completing their educational program and career through a coordinated delivery of on-campus benefits assistance and counseling. This is the first program of its kind in the state of Georgia!

          Margo started her career at the VA in 2012, but has over 15 years’ experience working as a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. Margo, who is the daughter of an Army Veteran, is committed to serving Veterans, active duty military and/or their eligible family members by assisting in their academic and educational success.
