Richard Sisk is the Assistant Director and a Transition Coordinator for Military and
Veteran Services. Richard served 4 years in the Army as an infantryman with the 10th
Mountain Division’s 4th Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Battalion 30th Infantry Regiment
from 2004 to 2008. This included a deployment to Afghanistan from late 2006 to early
Originally from Pascagoula, MS, Richard decided to use his Post 9/11 GI Bill at Mississippi
Gulf Coast Community College and then transferred to Kennesaw State in the summer
of 2010. This would ultimately result in his employment at the Veteran Resource Center,
(now known as Military & Veteran Services) as a VA work study student beginning in
that fall of 2010.
It is the 2 and a-half years of experience as a VA work study student, where he developed
his passion for helping other veterans with their transition into college, just as
he once experienced himself. Richard graduated from KSU with his undergraduate degree
in the summer of 2013 and began working full-time as the Transition Coordinator with
Military & Veteran Services at KSU in May of 2014. Richard is married and has both
a son and a daughter.
